Belt Sizing Guide

Rhinestone Cowgirl Western Wear, Belts & Handbags
Break out the old measuring tape! This really is important. Don’t try to guess, or assume you wear a medium just because your last belt was a medium. Instead, break out the measuring tape and measure exactly where you like your belt to sit on your waist or hips, making sure to put the tape through your belt loops. You want this number to match up with the hole placement in the chart below. Still not sure? Size up when in doubt. A great way to insure proper fit is to compare measurements with a comfortable belt you already have. Here's how to properly measure for belt hole placement:

 Size
Hole Placement (Your Waist / Hips)
 XS, Kids 24-28"
 Small 28-32"
 Medium 32-36"
 Large 36-40"
 X-Large 40-44"
 Plus Sizes up to 50"
Some styles may vary. Always check individual belt description for details

If you fall in love with a belt that’s too big keep in mind that you can oftentimes get it shortened for a small fee. Most yellow pages can easily lead you to a leatherworker in your area that can custom size your belt in a snap. If you’ve fallen in love with a belt that’s too small, rush to order the next size up, and give that shorter one to someone lucky ... you’ll make a friend for life. And don’t even think about trying to stretch a too small rhinestone studded belt ’cause it will be ruined, guaranteed.

Please double check those listed measurements for the belt you are thinking of buying. While cowgirl belts returned in brand new condition are accepted here for store credit, there is a restocking fee. Plus, by the time you send that belt back, the one you want to replace it with may be no longer available. Bottom line, it’s much better to take an extra minute and get the correct size belt to begin with. You’ll be glad you did.
